1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to writeyourluck.com and to every consultation, conversation, form submission, WhatsApp exchange, email and payment handled by Write Your Luck ("we", "us", "our"), based at A-205, Dodke Palazzo, NH4, Kothrud, Pune 411038, Maharashtra, India.
By using our website, booking a consultation or sharing personal information with us in any form, you agree to the practices described below.
2. What we collect
We collect three kinds of information:
a. Information you give us directly
- Contact details — name, phone / WhatsApp number, email, postal address (for in-person visits)
- Astrology inputs — date, time and place of birth (for chart-based consultations)
- Numerology / Handwriting inputs — current full name, signature photo, handwriting sample, mobile number, residential address
- Vastu inputs — floor plan, address, photos of the property (for audits)
- Booking inputs — service requested, preferred mode, preferred start date, mode of payment
- Free messages — anything you type in our forms, on WhatsApp, or in email
b. Information we collect automatically
- Basic device and browser information (browser type, operating system, device class)
- Pages visited, time on page, referrer URL and approximate country/city (via privacy-friendly analytics)
- Cookie identifiers (see Cookies below)
c. Information from third parties
- Payment confirmation from our payment processor (Razorpay / UPI / card) — we do not store your full card or UPI PIN
- Booking or conversation metadata from WhatsApp Business (timestamps, delivery status)
3. How we use your information
We use your information only for the purposes you came to us for, plus a small set of related, legitimate purposes:
- To deliver the consultation you booked — prepare your chart, signature analysis, Vastu plan or remedy list
- To write and send your report — within the turnaround time stated for your service
- To confirm appointments, send reminders and follow-ups — via WhatsApp, email or SMS
- To collect and reconcile payments — via Razorpay, UPI or direct bank transfer
- To send the lead magnets and free tools — only if you opted in
- To handle support and refunds
- To improve our website — aggregate, non-identifying analytics (e.g. "5 people read this article")
- To comply with Indian law — only when a valid legal request requires it
4. Who we share with
We share your information only with the people who need it to deliver the service:
- Our practitioner — for the consultation you booked
- Payment processor — Razorpay for card / UPI / netbanking transactions. They receive name, email, amount and order ID only
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) — when you message us on WhatsApp, they process the message per their own privacy policy
- Hosting and email providers — the infrastructure that runs our website and sends your reports
- Government or law enforcement — only when compelled by a valid Indian legal process
For Business Package clients we are happy to sign a mutual NDA before we begin.
5. How we store and protect it
Your data is stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure. Access is limited to the practitioner and a single operations person. We use:
- HTTPS for everything served from this site
- Encrypted password managers and 2FA on every business account
- No public links to your report files
- Local backups only on encrypted drives
6. How long we keep it
- Booking and session records: 7 years (required by Indian tax law)
- Astrology / Numerology / Vastu reports: 3 years from the session date
- WhatsApp conversations: 2 years, then deleted unless you ask us to keep them longer
- Marketing emails (if you subscribed): until you unsubscribe
- Analytics: aggregated, no personal identifiers, 26 months

7. Your rights & choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Show you the personal data we hold on you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your data (subject to the retention periods above)
- Stop sending you marketing messages (unsubscribe link in every email / "stop" in WhatsApp)
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority

8. Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies: one to remember your menu preferences, one to keep you logged in to the booking flow if you start one, and a privacy-friendly analytics cookie that does not identify you personally. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the site.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian's written consent. Where a consultation is for a minor (e.g. a baby name selection), the parent or guardian is the account holder and decision-maker.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when the last change was made. Material changes (anything that broadens what we collect or how we use it) will be communicated by email or WhatsApp to active clients.
